So, after two weeks of "training" I finally get to do some actual teaching tomorrow at the Tsongas Center. WooHoo! I'm looking forward to it.

Oh, another thing today... I was told to check out the newest Vanity Fair magazine for the photo spread from the Harry Potter movie. {Thanks Peter!} Surprising even myself I laid down the 4 bucks to buy it and now can enjoy the article in the solitude of my own home :) I have to say the pics are quite nice...well worth the money..

Also, I was just watching The Amazing Race on TV. I have become hooked on the show and was very disapointed just now because my favorite team (David and Margaretta) was just eliminated. They were cute grandparents and were doing so well until tonight! Alas! Now I'll have to choose a new favorite team. Perhaps team Guido??

Well, I have almost finished reading Bee Season by Myla Goldberg. It is a really interesting book that pulls together the topics of growing up, religion and religions, adult relationships, and many other deep topics. I really like the book, but wish that I had someone to talk to about it. I would love to have someone else's thoughts on it.

That being said...If there's anyone out there who has actually read this book let me know! ...and since I'm pretty sure my readership is about 3... If any of you want to borrow this novel from me and read it...we could then talk about it :-D

Think about it.

hello! No major car happenings today...except for the fact that I was driving my mom's Jeep. That may not sound like a problem...and it really wasn't, except that the windshield was completely devoid of an inspection sticker. Wouldn't you know, I passed more Police cars today than I have in the last few weeks combined. Luckily, they were all more interested in other cars, their cruiser radios, the road, and perhaps a donut or two to notice that I was completely illegal.

No worries about my being an outlaw! The Jeep is doing quite well now and is all stickered up. and there was great rejoicing....yay

I would like to send out a giant THANK YOU to the nice man from AAA who picked me and my ill car up in Lowell and then transported us to Townsend. It was quite a pleasant ride in the cab of his truck, except for the overwhelming smell of coconut from his little tree air-freshener and the obnoxiously loud WAAF blaring on the radio! Ah well.

Another notch in the "growing up" stick. The first of 'my generation' of family friends to be pregnant had her baby shower this afternoon. So far, she's the only one to be married...and the first to have a baby. We're all pretty excited for her. But it does make life a bit more awkward for the rest of us at the mixed mom and daughter table. En mass we really don't want to hear a)our mom's pregnancy stories and b) the "when I'm a grandmother..." talks with the pointed glances :)

All in all, however, it was a lovely shower. Karen received many, many beautiful gifts, and most of all, the comfort of knowing there are so many people here to support her.

Well, Peter has now been introduced to one of the great passions of the Lowe family...Building 19... Where else can you find a skull on a stick, a pelican lamp, frying pans, curtains, tools, candy, sports equipment, off sized work uniforms and international foods in the same room? :) Although he didn't think he'd find anything we walked out with several home decorating items!

We also got an eyeful of the movie L.A. Story. Steve Martin being, well, Steve Martin. Mucho laughs!
